My Latest Drugstore Finds
Like most of you, I’m a high end kind of girl who doesn’t mind paying extra for my Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil because… its better than anything else on the market. I would turn my nose up at the idea of buying make-up or skin care from the drugstore because “I could afford better.”
But what about the products hiding in your CVS that are just as good as their high-end counter parts. Would you then be willing to go the discount route?
Every now and again I find great bargains at the drugstore that make me squirm because the product is sooo good, but my inner snob rebels. So, while I will never purchase foundation from Walgreens (MAC all the way, baby!), I have recently discovered two treasures that I wanted to share:
NYC Copper Sparkle Nail Polish:
This may actually be my favorite vampy nail polish of all time, at it retails for less than $3 a pop!! The color is a magnificent blend of dark brown and blackened plum with tons of… you guessed it, copper sparkles. The combination sounds a bit odd, but try it. In real life, its magic.
Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash:
I was at a girlfriend’s house for a spa party and noticed this in the bathroom. This staple for high schoolers has the same active ingredients as DDF Salicylic Acid Face Wash… in the same percentage! So… $35 for DDF, or $5 for Neutrogena??

my brother and i have been using the neutrogena oil free acne wash, and i think it messed up his skin, and also mine. when we use it, our skin tends to get dry after, it flakes!! =[

This post, however off-topic it may be, is about Internet freedom. \”Network Neutrality\” — the First Amendment of the Internet — ensures that the public can view the smallest blog just as easily as the largest corporate Web site by preventing Internet companies like AT&T from rigging the playing field for only the highest-paying sites.
But Internet providers like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast are spending millions of dollars lobbying Congress to gut Net Neutrality. If Congress doesn\’t take action now to implement meaningful Net Neutrality provisions, the future of the Internet is at risk.
In the end game, only large companies will afford domains if the communications monopolies have their way with this. This of course isnt new news, but its coming to a head and blogs like this one will be a ghosttown unless all of us figure it our pretty darn quick. I wont post any links, but advise that if you value the internet, and blogs likw this one, that you search Google for \”Network Neutrality\” and educate yourself on this issue as it effects all of us.

Among my drugstores finds are:
-Maybelline’s Full’n Soft Very Back mascara :an absolute favourite, since this goes on easily, does not clump, does NOT flake after an hour giving you the most lovely panda-eyes like so many other cheap mascaras. The colour is deep velvety black with a hint of sheen.
-Olay Regenerist Enhancing Lotion with VU protection (contains good amounts fo anti-irritants, antioxidants, cermides, emollients). This is huge in Australia!!
- L’Oreal Colour Riche in Transparent Cherise, #091 (a sheer lipstick that’s more like a lip balm with a wash of rich cherry colour. Keeps your lips hydrated and soft.
